In 2020, Bushland Management Services was appointed to start work on the Loftus Creek Watercourse Project for Sutherland Shire Council to protect and enhance important natural resources. Loftus Creek is an important subcatchment which drains to the Woronora River of the Sydney Basin.

Natural area expansion for City of Sydney

Natural Area Expansion | Environmental Construction

A project for City of Sydney to enhance the natural surroundings at a popular harbourside park. Blackwattle Bay Park is a crucial open space for the local community. Important historical relics and structures are dotted around the park, and one of Sydney’s favourite coastal walks, the Glebe Foreshore Walk, runs through it.

Regeneration and rejoicing at Cooma Cottage

Bush Regeneration

As part of the National Trust (NSW)’s 75th Anniversary celebrations, Bushland Management Services planted 800 trees at Cooma Cottage alongside the local community. The project to conserve the natural environment surrounding the National Trust property was generously supported through the Government’s Grant Program.

Bush regeneration works for Liverpool Council

Bush Regeneration

In late 2020, Bushland Management Services were proud to commence a significant three year project with Liverpool Council to undertake bush regeneration works across various locations. Our goal is to rehabilitate the natural areas which have become degraded by invasive species and improve the natural environment.

Rehabilitating bushland at Tunks Park West

Bush Regeneration

For many years, Bushland Management Services have been working closely with North Sydney Council to provide a native habitat for the local species and encourage the creation of bushland corridors within Tunks Park West. Tunks Park West is predominantly Hawkesbury Sandstone with Angophora woodland and a tall open forest.

Often our natural areas need protection from the built environment that surrounds it and it is often beneficial to create a ‘buffer’ area between the built and the natural environment to mitigate the negative effects of urbanisation.

Stormwater management at Maluga Passive Park

Revegetation

Bushland Management Services was contracted by Canterbury Bankstown City Council to help protect an important waterway in Birrong, which was at risk from stormwater pollution. Stormwater runoff negatively impacts our natural environment. This occurs when rain falls on impervious surfaces, such as roads and other hard surfaces.

Fire management at Woolrych Reserve

APZ Management

Bushland Management Services commenced a two year project with Northern Beaches City Council to reduce the risk of bushfires within Woolrych Reserve. Woolrych Reserve is a small pocket of bush located in Davidson on the Northern Beaches, comprising of mainly Sydney Sandstone vegetation community species.
