Built Environment Awards
The Built Environment Awards are three separate programs that contribute to and celebrate our understanding of the inner west's built heritage and sustainable practices and includes the Marrickville Medal for Conservation, the Sustainable Building Awards and the Urban Photography Competition.
The Marrickville Medal for Conservation is one of the first of its kind in New South Wales and has been awarded annually since 1995, celebrating built conservation works that contribute to the understanding and preservation of the Inner West’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
The Sustainable Building Award first held in 2016 recognises the contribution that both sustainable architecture and building works make to our community.
The Urban Photography Competition is open to people of all ages and abilities and encourages residents to engage with the Inner West Council urban landscape.
The event is held in the Kirkbride Theatre and afternoon tea is served at the conclusion of the event. Garden games will be provided for children.
