Como Reimagined

Be a part of Como’s future today and tomorrow

Once beautifully conserved and restored, Como will be reimagined. Como is the founding property of the National Trust in Victoria. Our founders, Robin Boyd and Sir Daryl Lindsay, worked tirelessly with the community to purchase Como in 1956 to prevent those bricks from being demolished. Embedded in this purchase was everything that we have fought for and achieved over the past 65 years.

La Trobe's Cottage

Conserving La Trobe family portraits

Thanks to your support we are able to undertake this important conservation work or these extraordinary paintings in our collection. These include the oil paintings at La Trobe’s Cottage of La Trobe’s father and grandfather. The large painting of Christian Ignatius La Trobe is by Thomas Barber (1768-1843). This conservation work will greatly enhance their appearance and will ensure that they are looked after into the future.
